Are you eager for specific, constructive feedback on your poems? Do you want to participate in an online community of writers committed to helping each other develop their poetry writing skills? If so, this is the class for you.
“This class will create a supportive and productive space for you to share and receive feedback on poems, whether you want to write new poems or further develop and revise existing material,” says instructor Heather June Gibbons. “In small groups, you will give and receive thoughtful, specific comments on each other's poetry. I will also provide you with my observations about your poems' strengths, opportunities for further development, and suggested edits. Lastly, we’ll spend some of our time discussing craft issues such as imagery, sound and figurative language, and I’ll assign an optional weekly writing prompt designed to help you develop skills in these areas."
The course will use the online platform Wet Ink, which allows for clear, targeted commentary on submissions. It also allows for student discussion and the posting of lessons, resources, and suggested readings.
