Do you have a fantastic idea for a screenplay and need support through the opening scenes? Or perhaps you're midway through a script, but feel you could benefit from guidance and feedback? This class offers a safe online haven where students can submit, comment on, and discuss each other’s work, while instructor Kerry Muir acts as guide and facilitator.
In The Screenwriters Workshop, you'll submit work each week, and offer feedback on classmates’ work. That weekly exchange will be the central focus of the class. Kerry will also provide you with her observations about your screenplays’ strengths, opportunities for further development, as well as suggested edits. Lastly, she will assign optional writing prompts designed to help you flex and strengthen your screenwriting “muscles,” concentrating on a different area of craft each week.

The course uses the online platform Wet Ink, which allows for student discussion, the posting of lessons, resources, and suggested readings, as well as an online space for constructive criticism and feedback from your peers and instructor.

Kerry's enthusiasm for the content of the class, her use of writing exercises, and the collaborative nature of the class demystified and relaxed the writing experience making it seem so much more accessible and less daunting. I now have the confidence to move forward with my screenplay as well as the tools to write it within the confines of the structure.
