“Got an idea for a novel, a movie or a TV series? That’s great!” says instructor Kate Montgomery. “Time to roll up your sleeves and map out a story that will keep your readers engaged from the first page to the last!”
“It’s all too easy to spend hours merrily writing away only to find you’ve gone down a dead end and are miles from where you want to be. But a story map is like GPS— a foolproof way to stay on track while keeping your structure solid and your pacing tight.”
In this daylong remote class, we’ll explore writing strategies across a number of genres. You’ll learn how to hook your readers from the get-go and how to craft compelling characters, intriguing conflicts, and well-timed twists that keep your reader surprised and captivated straight through to the end. “
“Whether you’re working on a novel, a screenplay, a short story, or a presentation at work, Story Mapping tools can be applied in many different arenas. So bring that cool idea, and plan to leave this workshop knowing how to transform it into an entertaining adventure that leads to a satisfying destination!”
