“No matter how long we’ve been writing poems,” says instructor Lisa Gluskin Stonestreet, “there’s still more to learn, about both the art form and our particular poetic practice. A community of dedicated peers can help us deepen and improve our poems, whatever that means for each of us.”
This intensive workshop for a maximum of nine students is designed for poets seeking to reinvigorate their practice and refine their craft in a supportive, guided environment. Students will develop tools for understanding what each poem wants to become and helping it find its way there, including optional revision practices and suggested reading arising from each week’s discussion. Each student will workshop 4–5 poems during the course, and will be required to read each week’s workshop poems before class.
This course is designed for students with previous writing, workshopping, and possibly publishing experience, or those who have taken multiple Writing Salon poetry courses.

Lisa is a perceptive reader and outstanding teacher of poetry. I hope to work with her again.
Lisa is an excellent instructor who obviously knows her stuff. She's personable, and meets students where they are. I really enjoyed just listening to her talk about poetry in general— assigned readings, student work, and her own work.
