Writer’s block is the curse of even the most experienced writer and stops beginners before they get a word on the page. We want to write, but instead we find ourselves rearranging the spice rack, sorting our sock drawer or just staring into space. Or perhaps we actually get a few sentences down, but we don’t like what we’ve written or even if we do, we don’t think anyone else will be interested in what we have to say. Or we just feel uninspired, in need of an infusion of energy.
Instructor Elaine Beale says, “If you want to write creatively you need to be willing to take on your inner critic. You need to face your fear, take risks, and to trust that you’ll make progress if you show up and do the work. This makes it sound simple, but it can be extremely challenging. This class will provide the guidance and inspiration you need to face down writer’s block and succeed.”
The class will be a supportive space for writers of all levels of experience—those who are struggling to maintain their writing practice, those new to writing who are searching for inspiration, and those who need help kick-starting a new project. Class sessions and homework assignments will include exercises and techniques that will help you understand how to move past your barriers, get inspired, and write and write and write.

I am a big fan of Elaine's classes. She immediately puts the novice at ease and her enthusiastic love of the craft is contagious.
Elaine knows her stuff, obviously, and articulates her insights in an inspiring style. She respects how challenging writing is and accentuates that by constantly providing positive support. She is warm, honest, and helpful for fledgling fiction writers!
