“Are you looking for a place to talk about your Round Robin discoveries? Excited to explore a new character, a promising writing project, a story that’s begun to take shape? Interested in getting additional feedback on your writing?” asks instructor Kathy Garlick. Running concurrently with the Daily Write Round Robin, the Round Robin Writing Group will respond to your specific writing needs and interests, connect you with like-minded writers, and provide insights into process and craft.

The 8-week writing group will consist of facilitated meetings where you can Zoom in once a week to meet with Kathy, your partners and other Robins. Kathy will lead focused discussions on the writing process (coaxing creativity out of a busy day, dealing with writer’s block) and craft (e.g., character sketches, creating setting, writing scenes). She will share tips, strategies, and exercises to enliven and deepen your daily writes and help you apply them right away.

From a quick survey at the first class meeting about your writing life and Round Robin experience, Kathy will curate subsequent meetings to dive into the concerns and desires that impact you most. You will also have the opportunity to share your writes 2-3 times over 8 weeks to get encouraging feedback from Kathy and the group and to learn where you might take your writing next.

Kathy says, “The Round Robin Writing Group offers a new platform for Robins to support each other‘s creative journeys. Through the weekly Zoom meetings, participants will build a sustained connection with other writers who are going through the joys and challenges of Round Robin and they’ll finish with methods to invigorate their daily writing.”

*Capped at 10 participants, the Round Robin Writing Group is only open to people who are enrolled in the 8-week Round Robin as well.
