“As screenwriters, we tend to work alone for protracted amounts of time in silence, but when we’re hard at work on a script, it’s invaluable to get feedback and encouragement to keep us on track,” says instructor Kerry Muir. "This workshop is designed to help writers build momentum, and pull their storylines into clearer, sharper focus.”
The Screenwriter’s Workshop will provide a structured sanctuary for writers who are in the beginning stages of a screenplay or nearly done with a script. Each week, students will present scenes via a series of virtual informal table readings for feedback and constructive criticism.
“While this online class is built primarily around giving and receiving feedback, each week we’ll also touch on at least one craft element, such as conflict, through-line, obligatory scenes, and more,” says Kerry. “Additionally, we’ll dive into a handful of exercises, both craft-specific and intuition-based, designed to allow the work to spring from both the head and the heart.”
