“Do you have the urge to write, but no clues about how to start? Or maybe you’ve been working on a piece of writing, but suddenly you’re stuck? Well, this one-day workshop is all about getting started, a no-stress entry into the room of writing,” says instructor Katharine Harer. “We’ll do a variety of exercises and interactive activities, get inspired by inspiring writers, and discuss the process as we go along.”
Katharine will share some time-tested and energizing ways to get words and ideas out of your head and onto the page. Whether what you write takes the form of poetry, memoir, fiction, or I-don’t-know-what-this-is-but-I-like-it, you’ll have something to take home with you at the end of the day along with tools to continue writing on your own.
Whether you’re brand-new to writing, stuck in a spell of writer’s block, or simply looking for ways to energize your practice, all are welcome in this workshop!
*There will be a lunch break for at least 30 minutes during this Saturday class.

I found Katharine's teaching style empathetic and helpful. She was always about improving, no matter what level we were at.
I think Katharine is a great teacher. She gives everyone respectful, individual attention. She lets everyone have their own opinion and encourages us to listen to each other with the same empathy.
